Our story

Avenue Church is launching in Needham, Massachusetts in the fall of 2024!

Avenue is supported by and partnered with other Jesus-centered, Bible-teaching churches in the Boston area, throughout New England, and across the country. We believe it’s not individuals who plant churches; rather, it’s churches that plant new churches.

Robert “Burt” Parker is the lead pastor of Avenue Church. Burt grew up in Augusta, Georgia, and has been serving in ministry since 2011. He holds an undergraduate degree in Journalism and History, as well as a Master’s Degree in Christian Education.

Burt and his wife, Lindsay, were married in 2014 and are blessed with their six-year-old son, Divy. Lindsay, a Needham native, attended Newman, Pollard, and graduated from Needham High School in 2005. Burt and Lindsay both love Needham and have a deep desire to see the town, along with surrounding communities, embrace the Gospel of Jesus and grow in faith and knowledge of God.
